"Tom Petersen of Best Dry did mold remediation and drying in my master bath and adjacent bedroom closet. A leak in one of the sinks had caused a lot of water damage and mold in the vanity under the sink and on the floor and walls. The job entailed removing the interior parts of the vanity cabinet and surrounding dry wall, which were wet and contaminated, sanding, scrubbing and disinfecting remaining areas, setting up a containment area with a zippered door, and installing a large commercial HEPA Air Scrubber and a large commercial Dehumidifier for a three-day period. Tom had done a bigger job for me a few years ago, so I already knew that his price would be fair and his work would be top rate.
I would give an A++ to Tom Petersen for his great price, his beautiful work and his kindly, professional manner. First about the price: Tom’s bid was just about half the bid I received from another provider. The other provider had me literally sick, talking in such ominous tones about what a big job this was. Tom was so different. He said, “Oh this is not too bad. We’ll have to remove all that under the sink and into the closet, but that’s not a real big deal. We can prop up the Corian counter top so it won’t be damaged, and we can save the front piece with drawers and doors so you don’t have to have all that rebuilt.” And the biggest difference (apart from the price) was that the other provider said it would take about two weeks, with a big hose running out through my bedroom. Tom said it would take three days and would be contained to the bathroom. He returned the next day with a helper and set it up so the bathroom was sealed off from the bedroom with a zippered door. They were very careful to protect my light carpet and to preserve the Corian counter top. They removed all wet and contaminated material, which looked to me like a ton of stuff, disinfected the remaining material and set up the HEPA Air Scrubber and Dehumidifier inside the containment area. With the bathroom sealed off like that, the machines went about their business while I went about mine, and the experience was actually quite benign. When they removed all the equipment three days later, they left everything perfectly neat. Later when the contractor came to restore the cabinets and closet, he kept raving about what a beautiful job Tom had done. He said all the cut lines were clean and true, and he was overjoyed about some of the pieces Tom had thought to save. Last, and one of the most important things to me, Tom was just so kind. He doesn’t want to worry you or gouge you. He takes pride in his work and charges a fair price."
